NES; Neuro Electrical stimulation

What is Neuro Electrical Stimulation (NES)

The origins of the NES method lie in the roots of acupuncture. In the 1970s, Scottish neurosurgeon Meg Patterson developed a method in which special electrodes were placed behind the ear instead of needles. These are controlled by a pulse generator. She experimented with a wide variety of frequencies on hundreds of addicted patients and found the ideal setting for pulse strength and frequency. She has described this at length in her book; "the gentle withdrawal". In it she describes her successful deployment and effectiveness of the NES, which has played a major role in the treatment of several famous people including Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend and Keith Richards.

Use of NES in treatments

Thanks to the use of the NES, there are significant positive results in substance withdrawal and the treatment of depression. The NES increases Dopamine which stimulates, Endorphins which soothe pain and Serotonin which makes you calm and happy. The use of the NES is standard for every client at Den Rooy Clinics!!
