CANNABIS IS AS ADDICTIVE AS ALCOHOL AND HEROIN!

Cannabis is as addictive as heroin and alcohol. This is according to one of the largest studies on the effects of cannabis use. Few cannabis users can stay off the drug for half a year, even after-treatment remains difficult! "Cannabis is too often mistakenly regarded as a safe drug." the researchers said.

Onderzoek door verslavingsexpert Wayne Hall.

The study was conducted by leading addiction expert Wayne Hall. He looked at the effects of cannabis throughout the 20-year British study. Hall links many harmful side effects to the use of the drug. Mental illness, poor school results and impaired driving skills are all linked to cannabis by the addiction expert.

Hall concludes that:

-one in six teenagers who regularly smoke cannabis is addicted to it. Just like one in 10 adult users.

cannabis doubles the risk of psychosis and schizophrenia and is associated with withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, loss of appetite and depression.

-driving after smoking cannabis doubles the risk of a car accident. A risk that is even higher in combination with alcohol consumption.

cannabis users do much worse in school. Frequent use during adolescence appears to slow intellectual development.

-as many teenagers smoke cannabis as cigarettes.

The use of cannabis can cause serious problems for people. Especially if they use it once daily for a longer period of time. Heavy users even experience the same withdrawal symptoms as alcohol and heroin addicts. So it is wrongly considered a safe drug!
